Global Aging Preparedness Project
Visit the Global Aging Preparedness Project’s dedicated website.
The Global Aging Preparedness Project, which was funded by Prudential plc, was initially housed at the Center for Strategic and International Studies but then migrated to the Global Aging Institute. The project was launched in 2010 and concluded in 2016.
The Global Aging Preparedness Project includes two major sub-projects: the Global Aging Preparedness Index (GAP Index) and the East Asia Retirement Survey (EAR). The GAP Index provides a unique quantitative framework for assessing the fiscal sustainability and income adequacy of retirement systems around the world. The EAR explores how rapid development and rapid aging are transforming retirement attitudes, behavior, and expectations in the most economically and geopolitically important region of the emerging world.
